ironman profile

height: 170 cm

weight: 60 kg pre-season, hope to be 58-59 kg just before race day

favourite workout: 60 min tempo run at seapoint promenade in cape town

most hated workout: 4000m easy swim in a 20 m cold pool with dimmed lights at 7:30 am in december

favourite piece of equipment: powertap, swiss ball, de soto racing shorts with 4 side pockets, nike run t-shirt, i dont care much about racing equipment and bikes and such, as long as it works im fine with it, i care a lot about shoes, best shoes so far were asics ds trainer, zoot ultra running shorts, i do not like wetsuits at all but i like the effect

favourite meal: arugola, quinoa, tomato, garlic, flaxseed, onion, olives, olive oil, peper

favourite pre-race food: oats and roibosch tea

favourite post-race food: none, i just drink water, if i feel good i might have pasta with meat and salt that night but thats all processed food so i might avoid it from now on

favourite race: i havent done so many races but i had the best time at ironman south africa 2006

coach: bojan maric (3coach.com)

goal: in 2008 i would like to get as close to 9 hours as possible, and ,if i can afford it, do three ironman races: ironman south africa and ironman austria are sure, i will have to see about money for the third race, maybe ironman florida, in 2009 i would like to do ironman china and maybe do total of four races a year, again if i can afford it, as for results i would like to be on the bike within 60 mins, get of the bike as close to 6 hours as possible, and finish around 9 hours, but my main ambitions lie not with results but in the number of quality ironman races i can do per year, and the level at which i race, it makes me happy if i can push hard during the whole race

what motivates me: as soon as i stop this sport i know i will end up chasing money and get back to my old lifestyle of sitting next to a computer for 15 hours a day. i love internet too much and i need ironman to keep me away from it. :)
